This course is an opportunity to explore art and maths in a fun, creative way, whilst learning about artists who use maths within their work.
It is suitable for anyone with an interest in either subject, from beginners to those with previous experience.
You will enhance your creative and mathematical knowledge and skills through a range of 2D and 3D themes, materials and processes.
By the end of the course - you will be able to:
Identify geometric shapes in everyday surroundings, architecture and art works
Create a parabolic curve drawing which explores the use of line to create illusions
Create a cake painting which explores fractions, inspired by the work of Wayne Thiebaud
Create a print which explores one point perspective and hidden numbers, inspired by Horrace Pippin
Design a piece of work to scale through drawing, inspired by Barbara Hepworth. Identify details such as measurements and angles
Work within a group to create a 3D sculpture.
