A two day weekend workshop with Catherine Edwards, Leather Designer/Maker, learning to make a simple but beautiful pair of handsewn slippers and then a bag to keep them in.
Learn to cut your own patterns to the size you require, and use them to trace onto top grade unwaxed leather, then cut out and mark up for stitching.
You will be using the traditional Saddlers’ two handed sewing technique to stitch your slippers together and add a small heel. With your finished slippers as a size guide, create your own envelope style storage bag using super soft suede and attach a hand rolled leather toggle to fasten.
The making process is completed entirely by hand using genuine leather working tools including vintage and antique pieces from the tutors own collection.
